How TrendDesk makes money

Some links on TrendDesk earn us a commission. Here is exactly how that works — and how it never changes what we write.

Last updated

The short version

When you click certain links to retailers and buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. You pay the same price either way. That revenue funds the products we buy for testing and the people who test them.

Which links are affiliate links

Buttons and links labeled "Check price" are typically affiliate links, and carry rel="sponsored" markup. Editorial links — to sources, studies or other coverage — are never monetized.

What commissions never do

  • They never change a score, a ranking or a verdict.
  • They never decide which products we cover — trend data and reader interest do.
  • Writers are paid the same regardless of what any article earns.
  • We link to products that earn us nothing whenever they're the honest recommendation.
