How TrendDesk works
Our methodology, scoring system, correction process and the wall between editorial and revenue — in plain language.
Scope
This policy covers every review, buying guide, comparison and news article published on TrendDesk.
Testing methodology
- We buy at retail. Scored reviews use units purchased anonymously at market price.
- Minimum two weeks of real use. No same-day verdicts.
- Claims get measured. Battery life, power draw, noise and temperature claims are tested with instruments and reported as measured values.
- Second-editor review. Another editor verifies measurements and conclusions before publication.
Scoring
Scores run 0–10 in half-point steps. A 5 means "does what it says, nothing more." Scores above 8 require the product to beat the best alternative we've tested at its price. Scores are re-validated when a product is updated or its price moves significantly.
Corrections
Errors are corrected in the article with a visible note stating what changed and when. Substantive corrections are also flagged at the top of the page. Report errors to corrections@trenddesk.example.
Independence
Advertising and affiliate partners have no access to drafts, no veto over coverage and no influence on scores. See the affiliate disclosure for how monetization works.
AI assistance
We may use software, including AI tools, for research and data analysis. Every published conclusion is verified and owned by a named human editor.
